I currently load Lucee extensions in dev (Commandbox) using the
LUCEE_EXTENSIONS
environment variable in my
.env
file. I also have a commercial JDBC driver that I've wrapped into a Lucee extension in a private Github repo and I'd like to be able to have it auto install in dev as well. However, due to the commercial nature, I cannot throw it up on Forgebox. Right now, I upload it in the Lucee Admin on each fresh server version start... is there another built-in way to do this automatically I don't know of? If not, I was thinking of just creating my own extension provider for it, adding that URL via
cfconfig
and do it that way. But I cannot find any current documentation on what needs to be in the required
install.cfc
file for this type of
.lex
install?
j
is it already available as a
lex
? are you able to publish it to an internal server? does this help? https://commandbox.ortusbooks.com/package-management/code-endpoints/lex-via-http
also, i'm curious what you get out of packaging the driver as an extension instead of just plopping the driver jar, itself, on the classpath. (that's what i do with my mariadb driver.)
l
hmm, yes it is already in a
lex
So this would require
box install
step
It's been an extension since Railo days
