Rolled back to version lucee-5.2.9.031 and those problems disappear. There must some issues with recent versions of Lucee running on IIS
s
I don't think Lucee cares what server you are running in front of it. It is more likely the installer or boncode config - I haven't run CF on IIS in 7 years and I don't know how many people still do these days so it's a bit of a niche setup
z
do fresh install, 5.2.9 is ancient, as will your tomcat and java?
which you did, doh, sorry
m
not sure really where to go with it though @zackster as the newere versions have this redirect issue
Sorry form the stupid question but can I run it in Windows on Tomcat?
z
lucee installer bundles tomcat
m
so when I ssetup the web files in IIS - where do I do this instead on tomcat ?
e,g,
I can access the site in the browser this way:
files are called from here:
image.png
That is good but I need to give it a proper url (e.g. valuationstest.com ) or something like that

It's to do with localhost, I think. Did u try the machine (Host) name instead or 127.0.0.1? I think it is some ipv6 weirdness with iis that localhost causes
I run latest lucee release on IIS.. and it's only an issue for localhost.. I see it every so often when I RDP to server and accidentally use localhost. I am sure if I applied my brain I could figure out the right tomcat boncode iis settings to fix, but since there is an easy workaround I have never found time

@Anders Lars your issue has to do with mod_cfml. It fails to create the context configuration for the domain you are accessing, tries to create it, and redirects with a 307 status to itself. Then it gets stuck in an endless loop. Haveyou tried to add this context manually? I know this problem can be solved by deactivating mod_cfml and adding the context configurations manually. Often admins want to keep mod_cfml activated for the automatic context configuration.

thanks Andreas - I am sure that's right. That reminds me that I actually wanted to get rid of mod_cfml as I only run one site .. and seems pointless for a single site setup..I assume removing mod_cfml is as simple as removing the mod_cfml valve node from the host entry in server.xml and manually adding my domain as a new host xml node. Plus commenting out ModCFMLSecret in the boncode settings. seemed to work, notwithstanding my barebones tomcat skills.
