Hey all, please can someone remind me where GitHub discussions got moved to? I thought I posted a detailed feature request there, but can't find it now.
p
hey adam, what was the ticket about? let me try and find it
🙏 1
we turned every discussion thread into an issue
a
It would have been about x.ai's amazing feature for email-based group scheduling
p
and turned of discussions
a
Ahh I see
p
i believe we decided to not build it like x.ai because they had quite a lot of issues with their ai stuff
a
If cal.com could reimplement what x.ai managed before it was acquired and killed off, I think it would conquer calendly and all the others even quicker.
p
have you checked out dynamic booking links maybe?
a
I don't mean the AI message parsing
I mean the possibility of group scheduling based on incremental narrowing of available time slots
p
oh ok, can you re-open maybe an issue explaining what you are looking for? cal.com/issue
“incremental narrowing of available time slots” can you explain that more? never had the chance to use x.ai
a
I have a vague memory of doing a detailed write-up explaining it
I'd really love not to have to repeat that if possible 🙂
Let me see if I can find the old link
even though it's dead now
May have it in my notes
Are you able to see what https://github.com/calendso/calendso/discussions/75 contains?
It might have been that, but not sure
I'll check the issue tracker again, in case I can find it there
Sadly it looks like Bizzabo removed the x.ai explainer videos from Youtube too 😞
@Peer Do you think there's any chance of recovering my previous write-up? I'm pretty sure I submitted it as a GitHub discussion
@Peer Any thoughts on this? Would love to retrieve it somehow, but if that's not possible then I can try to rewrite. Thanks!
p
hey @Adam Spiers no idea where your ticket went 😞
please rewrite 🙏
a
I think it was a discussion rather than an issue, maybe this one? https://github.com/calendso/calendso/discussions/75
@Peer I just tested, and if you temporarily re-enable discussions, then all the old links like that one become available again. So it should be easy to quickly retrieve.
message has been deleted
(it's a single click of this)
p
discussions are already enabled
a
Ah yes sorry, missed that. Hrm. Maybe the old history got wiped with the rename from calendso. Oh well
I finally got round to rewriting my thoughts on this and related topics: https://github.com/calcom/cal.com/issues/3810#issuecomment-1296400374
In particular, see section 2.3. for details of what x.ai's killer feature used to be.
