Hey @clever-exabyte-40857 I recently helped a community member with the same issue 😄 Catch up here!
message has been deleted
Key Takeaway!
think I need to do OAuth
will do and share my findings
l
Please do!
c
@loud-crowd-60573 I did
with OAuth
and it is still behaving the same
Botid:

Workflow:
8_ConcernsWrapUpFlow
Node name:
Calendly_Event

What exactly is not working? The link is not being displayed?
c
the calendly widget doesn't show
l
Taking a look at your bot
It looks good @clever-exabyte-40857 whats not working?
i tested with an autonomous node
c
thanks.. didn't know I had to use AN with it
how can I store the booking link that user creates in a variable?
@loud-crowd-60573 help would be appreciated 🙂
l
Will ask for help one moment! @cold-portugal-25283
c
Looking into this now
When you mean widget, do you mean the link isn't embedding? For example, like the photo below (I removed it, in case you didn't want the name to be publically available)

It displays as a normal link. But, that's not my main requirement. The thing is that I am essentially providing user a link that they click on and they land on calendaly external booking link. They schedule a meeting and get an email all from calendly. Now, I do not understand the puprose of calendly integration here if I am to give user an external link in the chat. I can simply paste the link in a text node and ask user to click it. I assumed this integration would provide us with a link to our scheduled booking which can be embedded in emails or docs.. clicking on this link will just open calendly and show us the details of our booking.

So if I'm understanding this correctly it's unclear as to what purpose the "Schedule Event" action does?
If that's the case, it takes the "Event Type URL" that you added in the card and it generates a single use scheduling link from it. In short, since the event type link is re-usable, the generated link prevents people from accidentally creating more than 1 event in your calendar.
c
once I have opened the link and scheduled the event on a particular date and time, then can I get any response back from calendly node?
c
It should return an object, let me get the schema for it
Copy code
ts
type ScheduleEventOutput = {
    bookingUrl: string;
    owner: string;
    ownerType: string;
}
The bookingUrl is what you'd be looking for
So
If you want to place the output into a variable, put it into a regular node instead of an autonomous node and then you can bind the output object to a variable. Then you can use the object in whichever context you like in order to add the link to it.
c
How do I access this output? Could you please add a simple node showing it to me?
to my bot?
c
Yep, working on this now
I'll have a screenshot here in a bit
Here's my bot, you can add a simple node on main workflow
sure, thanks 🙂
c
I'd need to add myself to your workspace, do I have your permission to do that?
c
@loud-crowd-60573 can you please give Justin access
you made changes to my bot directly
l
He can add himself! 😄
c
I can add myself, I just want your permission
c
please do!!
you have my permission 🙂
c
@clever-exabyte-40857 Ok, I created a node in workflow 8 called
Example_Schedule_Calendly_Event
. It shows you how to bind the action output to a variable, and then the text card below it shows you how to use it in a given context.
I have a meeting I need to attend in about 10 minutes, which should take me about an hour. So if you have anymore questions post them here and I'll take a look at it once I'm out of my meeting.
c
sure, I'll get back to you in an hour's time then
thanks for your help on this
c
No problem, it's what we're here for! 🙂
@clever-exabyte-40857 Did you have any new questions for me?
c
@cold-portugal-25283 when we book an appointment on calendly, they send us a google calendar event in email.. other than this can I get any kind of link back from calendly that lists down my booking time and all so that I can access my event/meeting from it? cc @loud-crowd-60573
Hi guys, any update on this?
l
The integration only sends you the registration link unfortunately!
Maybe if you also use the google calendar integration youll be able to make this work? Just a thought
