Follow-up Message Dual Language
# 🤝help
e
Hello, I want to create an automated follow-up message to conversations where a customer responds to an ad if they haven't responded in a couple of hours. I am trying to use the trigger node, which should be working fine, however, I'm having trouble getting this to be dual language like it is throughout the main flow. In the main flow, the user chooses between multiple choice options for English or Chinese. With the Chinese input, it sets the language to 'zh-TW' for the Translator Bot. I'm not sure how to trigger this with a seperate Trigger node to recall the conversation language as its just defaulting to English. I've tried duplicating the language cards but because theres no input this time to detect the language its not doing anything. I've also tried recalling the input from the multiple choice node but I'm not sure how to do this properly and it isn't giving me the proper response. Any help is appreciated. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1457686315628892363/1457686322536775681/Screenshot_2026-01-05_at_18.07.43.png?ex=697b3a2d&is=6979e8ad&hm=921c3ac15a1a4e94962bf6381a3b7775db9b80175493b6b22b336d086ca22dce& https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1457686315628892363/1457686322981507204/Screenshot_2026-01-05_at_18.42.30.png?ex=697b3a2d&is=6979e8ad&hm=cb37c64b5ccc6ddaffaee9521c6416f7b1022afc0155022a344c7553d426645d& https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1457686315628892363/1457686323350601862/Screenshot_2026-01-05_at_18.42.17.png?ex=697b3a2d&is=6979e8ad&hm=67debf9639a6cc56d517dfbcc3361d241f3785cdc44a505598c01bd939d8b41e& https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1457686315628892363/1457686323803721845/Screenshot_2026-01-05_at_18.44.06.png?ex=697b3a2e&is=6979e8ae&hm=848fe8dc67e87b519a006ee3a2106628a9e9a6ff80473c820bf78af132c2beb8&
also, if there is a better way to set up a follow-up message please let me know, I'm not sure if this would generate bugs with repeat messaging after a while and it doesn't seem too good for what I'm trying to achieve specifically

I can help you with this! The issue is that your trigger-based follow-up flow can't access the language choice from the main conversation flow because triggers start fresh without that context. The solution is to store the detected language in a persistent variable (like user.permanentLanguage) in your main flow, then reference that same variable in your trigger flow to set the correct language. Quick question: Are you storing the language choice anywhere that persists across the conversation, or is it only in conversation.Language?
e
just conversation.Language, but that is tracking the user language throughout entirety of the main flow. So would i need ot just reference this in the Trigger flow instead of creating a new detect language AI task? And just to clarify is this the best way of creating a follow-up to message drop-offs.
t
Yes, exactly - just reference conversation.Language in your Trigger flow instead of creating a new language detection task. The conversation variables persist, so you can access them. For follow-ups, this approach works, but a better method might be using a delay card with a condition that checks if they've responded. This prevents duplicate messages and gives you more control. Would you like me to walk you through setting up either approach?
e
yes please, could you walk me through setting up the delay card
and could you actually also help me figure out how to reference conversation.Language? I have no idea what I'm doing
t
Alright just send me a message @User
l
If you use an autonomous node, you can have it reply with the language the user is typing with!
r
but sometimes it not works i am using the autonomous node i send the text in other language but i recive text i other language @loud-crowd-60573
l
can you show an example please?
