Is it possible to pre-bake Flatpaks inside an immu...

Is there any way I can pre-install Flatpaks so they are directly installed in the image, in an atomic immutable fork of Fedora Kinoite that uses the BlueBuild template? Because my problem with default-flatpaks is that it starts downloading the apps after I log in, so there's one or two minutes after booting for the first time, that some apps aren't present in the system. I've seen Bazzite do this with apps like Bazaar, where it's a Flatpak but it comes pre-installed in the system without waiting.

maybe take a look at these message https://discord.com/channels/1198292321037455360/1198292321876316264/1435638684929232976 and the few messages before
it looks like you can put a list of flatpaks in a specific file location, and then run the flatpak preinstall command
g
yes. you can put file descriptions in /usr/share/flatpak/preinstall.d/*.preinstall something like:
Copy code
[Flatpak Preinstall com.github.tchx84.Flatseal]
Branch=stable

[Flatpak Preinstall io.github.flattool.Warehouse]
Branch=stable

[Flatpak Preinstall io.github.flattool.Ignition]
Branch=stable

[Flatpak Preinstall io.podman_desktop.PodmanDesktop]
Branch=stable
and then write a systemd service for it in /usr/lib/systemd/system, something like:
Copy code
[Unit]
Description=Preinstall Flatpaks
After=local-fs.target
After=network-online.target
Wants=network-online.target
ConditionPathExists=/usr/bin/flatpak

[Service]
Type=oneshot
ExecStart=/usr/bin/flatpak preinstall -y --ostree-verbose
RemainAfterExit=true
Restart=on-failure
RestartSec=30

StartLimitIntervalSec=600
StartLimitBurst=3

[Install]
WantedBy=multi-user.target

is flatpak updated to the version with preinstall on fedora now? last i checked other images were installing a custom-built version to get this feature
seems that it's available F44 onwards
will make this an issue about refactoring default-flatpaks
