did you have docker running?
s
ahh that may be it, running docker says command not found
installed it before this new conda stuff...wondering if maybe need to install it in the venv
a
Yes. both bentoctl and bentoml containerize feature requires Docker for now. There is a PR upstream for BentoML that enable user to use whatever containerize tools
oh for Docker you have to install docker desktop
s
i have it...lemmie try w it running
s
hrmm, i have it running and same stack trace error
a
can you send the output of
docker buildx b --help
s
let me reinstall docker desktop...i think somehow all of my paths got cleared in the last few weeks cuz things that were installed have been missing...including docker, which would make sense if this leans on that command. will report back

@Aaron Pham Could not have figured this out without your help. I have the bentoctl build command running and uploading the image now...turned out it was the WSL I had installed being disconnected from windows (due to some weirdness that happened recently) but docker couldnt find wsl and couldnt start
harpo parrot 1
a
glad to hear that it worked out !!
s
hey @Aaron Pham did you have to do a process of verification before u could spin up a ec2 g4dn.xlarge? Everything works except now it fails saying i have hit the instance limit and now im waiting for a response from amazons aws. Just verifying that im on the right track
a
wdym by process of verification? do you mean by health check for spinning up ec2?
s
sec lemmie do it again rn so i can tell u the exact output
b
@Scott Hedstrom Can you make sure your aws account have the proper limit set for the g4 instances?
I think they set the initial limits to 0 until you requests a new instance limit
s
ok, i requested a limit increase from them before I posted that question, making sure that I was on the right path
Hey, so it looks like the script tries to run a dedicated host when I hit the
bentoctl apply -f deployment_config.yaml
in the stable-diffusion project...is there a way to configure this for spot instances? that spin up when we use them, or is this only able to work with a whole server?
