Given I ported Rust to aarch64 and created a JIT68k tool to run amiga programs on the command line, and after talking to
@bsek I decide to use the bits and pieces I had to also create a Rust compiler for 68k.
To be specific, it's
Rust for the Motorola 68000, on Apple Silicon. A stock Rust nightly plus a ~120-line LLVM patch produces correct big-endian 68k code, running through a from-scratch 68k→AArch64 JIT (and a matching interpreter for cross-checking).
no_std
core + alloc is solid;
std
runs too (Vec, HashMap, format!, time, files) on a small host-backed "stub DOS" that stands in for AmigaOS.
Is anyone interested in using and testing that?
