Hi All, I am trying to connect to pinot using JDBC client. I am able to connect it locally, but when am trying to access the URL with Basic Auth it is throwing "PinotClientException: Pinot returned HTTP status 403, expected 200" . I did provide username and password using setProperties method but still the same . Can anyone help with the same ?

Does the same user name password work without JDBC client? cc: @Alexander Pucher

when am trying to access the URL with Basic Auth
- how are you providing the credentials? via header or via URL?
a
@Mayank yes it works without jdbc client
@Alexander Pucher I am providing the credentials via properties
m
Can you file an issue?
a
@Arpita Bajpai when testing the credentials without JDBC, are you connecting to the broker or the controller? broker and controller have separate configs for auth

@Alexander Pucher connecting to controller when testing the credentials without jdbc
a
would you mind querying the broker directly using curl? just provide the credentials via
Authorization
header. You may want to add the
-v
flag to curl so you can see the response code as well
alternatively, if you use the query console on the controller, you should get the same effect

@Mayank I have raised the issue in Github https://github.com/apache/pinot/issues/7987
@Alexander Pucher The use case is such we are writing a service in java which includes interaction with Pinot and fetch data from db . We have to do it through code
a
@Arpita Bajpai can you “query” the pinot broker with the credentials using curl or the query console? this is merely to confirm that this isn’t due to different auth configs of controller and broker in your setup
