@Jeffrey Sherman posted about his latest blog post on "Never Rewrite" (over in #C0270036PT4), that blog is pretty good. But I wanted to give a shoutout to his 3-part series on schema design for user-defined fields in CRM: https://shermanonsoftware.com/2023/02/06/user-defined-field-implementations-for-crms/ https://shermanonsoftware.com/2023/02/09/user-defined-field-patterns-2-nosql-relations/ https://shermanonsoftware.com/2023/02/13/user-defined-field-patters-3-hybrid-relations/ The user-defined field pattern is very common to SaaS applications, so this overview is super useful.

Thank you! If your SaaS has one of the first two patterns and is feeling the pain of scaling, you’ll also want to check out this article with a low risk migration plan - https://shermanonsoftware.com/2023/02/23/shifting-your-user-defined-field-pattern/

🤔 I should - simple and interchangeable beating higher performance and temperamental

Yes! Simplicity == Reliability

I’m working on a piece about baking and how things change as you scale
g
amazing!

Same recipe needs different temps and times
Which may require changing the moisture content, etc
☝️ I haven’t gotten it into shape yet though

Did you consider doing a video for these ideas too? I can see you walking around the Yankee stadium, or demonstrating scale issues in your kitchen...
Also, different equipment works better at different scale. Microwave vs Oven...

I never considered it before

🙂 worth a shot
this is amazing
