OK, here's what I'm doing. • Create new channel #C05CZ8U09MG for developers chatting about random things. Feel free to join now and post whatever random things you want :) • Add it as a default for signups, so people will find it. • I'll moderate it as aggressively as I moderate #C022S1VAK5M • Leaving #C023CVBS736 for marketing

☝️ I think it would be helpful to put appropriate post topics in the channel description. It’s not clear if marking that is applicable to SaaS developers is ok in #C022S1VAK5M

@Jeffrey Sherman since the answer is "it depends", you may want to pass it by me in DM. But generally speaking, sharing your blog or podcast (which has content specific for SaaS developers) is A-ok. Marketing copy for your company, products or services should go to #C0270036PT4.

ok, updated topic

Question—at some point, I may want to ask for volunteers to see a demo of a product for feedback purposes with regards to how it is delivered as a SaaS product. Is that an "off-topic" "random" or "general" or "announcements" question?
g
@Colt McNealy I think it’s ok in #C022S1VAK5M as long as you don’t go overboard talking up the product. If you want 3 paragraphs, emojis and images of your product pitch, that’s #C0270036PT4

"... and emojis" 😂 🤣 like 🚀 💹 📈 💰 👋 💥 📢 🤯?

Yeah… at some point this goes from cool to cringe… Anyway, I don’t ban anyone for posting on the wrong channel. You’ll get a note that says “please report in #C0270036PT4 “, no harm done.

I agree, spam has a very different pattern than a single post on #C022S1VAK5M, I have no problem with "promotional" posts, as long as they are in good faith (once a week on a general channel, send DM if you really think that it can benefit me - meaning you had some discussion with me, or my profile clearly provides for this - show me you checked me out ahead of sending it).
