Warmed my heart to hear Brian say: "As an engineer, I value the work that product managers do". He talked about how transforming your internal software to SaaS basically never works. But it sounds like the software worked just fine. Unfortunately working software is not enough... and the business didn't transform, so the whole thing didn't turn out well.
