Hi there - looking to get a better understanding of the plan for the connectors portion of Airbyte. I noticed you specified that it’s contributor selected / usually MIT. Any thoughts on more strongly suggesting MIT? The current setup could cause a mix which would be problematic down the road, particularly for companies that want to participate in commoditization of connectivity. Would love to hear your thoughts …

Hi Michelle, not having paywall in front of connectors is a driver to commoditizing data integration. We will always encourage contributors to use permissive licenses. Today we can't really control which other licenses contributors are using since anyone can bring their own connectors to Airbyte (you could create your own repo with a connector and import it into Airbyte). As part of the new contribution model we will release, there will be some conditions about licensing to ensure we stay true to our mission. Ultimately if one connector becomes too restrictive, you can trust the community to rebuild one that soften these limitations.
