Hello Is Airbyte 0.44 actively supported? Last month we were forced to upgrade from 0.41 to 0.44, possibly related to https://github.com/airbytehq/airbyte/issues/23716 . I worry that 0.44 may suddenly break one morning in my production environment I know that things can stop working when bugs are introduced inadvertently. I just wanted to get a sense of whether older versions of Airbyte are "supposed to" keep working, and for how many versions ago We're planning to upgrade to >= 0.50 but it's going to take us a few weeks

Yes, Airbyte 0.44 is actively supported. The release notes for June 2023 indicate that there were updates from Airbyte v0.44.12 to v0.50.5, which means that versions within this range, including 0.44, received updates and improvements [^1^]. However, it's important to note that while older versions of Airbyte are maintained, they may not include all the latest features, improvements, and bug fixes that newer versions have. For instance, in the June 2023 updates, new features were added and various bugs were addressed [^3^][^4^]. As for the security of your Airbyte instance, since version 0.44.0, Airbyte Open Source runs a security self-check during setup to help users secure their instance [^2^]. It's always recommended to keep your software updated to the latest stable version to benefit from all the improvements and ensure the best performance and security. If you're planning to upgrade to >= 0.50, that's a good move. Just make sure to test the new version in a non-production environment first to ensure everything works as expected. Hey Rohit, we don’t update old minor versions with bug fixes. In other words, there will not be any additional 0.44.X releases. If a bug were discovered in 0.44.12 (the last release in 0.44.X), the fix would be in the most recent minor version (currently 0.50.X). I’m curious, is there a reason you did not upgrade directly to the latest release (0.50.X) when you upgraded last month?

Hi Joey I first tried to upgrade to 0.50, the issue we ran into is that our custom connectors don't define their full JSON schema (because the sources don't have a schema) and Airbyte 0.50 only syncs the fields declared in the schema (In 0.44 this wasn't a problem) My solution is to put each object into a
{data}
field, and declare the schema to be
{primary_key, cursor_field, data}
. This seems to work in my test environment and I plan to upgrade to 0.50 this way once I update all my connectors
