Hi, I have deployed Airbyte on AWS EC2 with CDC for database in PostgreSQL. if I recreate the replication slot and reconfigure Airbyte after I drop the replication slot, is the data in the destination (same database, same schema, same table name) going to be overwritten after an initial sync?

Yes, if you recreate the replication slot and reconfigure Airbyte with the same destination (same database, same schema, and same table name), the data in the destination will be overwritten after an initial sync. This is because, during the initial synchronization, Airbyte effectively executes a full refresh, which uses SELECT statements on the source to retrieve records for replication. The full refresh | overwrite replication mode sends all data from the source to the destination, regardless of whether it has been synced before or not [source](https://airbyte.com/tutorials/full-data-synchronization). To create a new replication slot, you can use the following SQL command:
Copy code
SELECT pg_create_logical_replication_slot('airbyte_slot', 'pgoutput');
[source](https://docs.airbyte.com/integrations/sources/postgres) Keep in mind that schema changes are not supported automatically for CDC sources, and you should reset and resync data if you make a schema change [source](https://docs.airbyte.com/integrations/sources/postgres).
