hi, when I try to create a forum post in <#1006358244786196510>, when i click "Post" it doesn't do anything. i have a title, description, and tags, but it just silently fails (discord issue i think)

Try to reload your discord (CTRL + R), could fix the issue

I’m not sure if Postgres has an extension for this but I don’t think it’ll be any more helpful for you unless you are able to build that logic yourself.

Thanks. I thought as much, though I did find a discussion that talked about it being added...'offline support' was the discussion. Perhaps it's not exactly the same thing.
Does supabase even have the ability to notify when a change has occurred from a different client - or is it a matter of 'polling' for changes?

Yes, that was my thought, but I'd prefer if there was some solution that had this ability 'built-in' and so was wondering if anyone knew of something like that. IINM, Firebase has it.
I see Supabase has 'realtime':

...that seems to be a key feature I'm looking for; and I can use my app's current merge ability to do that.

Still 'realtime' is an 'add-on', right? Does that mean it costs more? I see some pricing but it doesn't say if it is 'per month' or 'per project' or what. Any idea about that?

There's a realtime server that runs elixir that sits in front of postgres. If you know anything about elixir/erlang then I think you're probably not going to be that concerned

Hrm. I'm not keen on going for firebase because they've chosen to shun 1/5 of the world market - also their "data harvesting" practices might be an issue...I'm really looking for an alternative.

realtime is part of the base instance and there is no extra cost for the feature, unless it requires more cpu/memory to handle the load, just like the rest of the system.  I assume any egress data is also counted as part of the plan, but have never seen this documented.

Simplified you set up a connection that will monitor insert/delete/updates to a single table with a single equals filter option.  It will also honor select RLS policy.  You will get the row of the table that changes in your client handler.  This is done over websockets.  You can have multiple connections per client.

Hi! I'm evaluating Supabase for my SAAS. Is It possible to save records to a local db when connection to Supabase is unavailable? I'd like to have the ability to then sync changes to Supabase when connectivity is available.

Supabase has nothing built in, that thread discusses alternatives.  I'm dong simple caching and an update to the database when connection returns with something called localForage, but it is roll your own as far as tying it in.  Alot also depends on the complexity of the data.  In my case it is a single user's data so not that difficult to keep synced versus data that can be updated by many.
