does anyone from EU using Supabase, I could not find any information about GDPR compliance and I am not sure if it is allowed to use Supabase for EU countries to store users data. Did anyone ever came to such issue?

I see Scott started this thread earlier, but no response.   My limited observation from the US is few companies are willing to guarantee absolute GDPR compliance as it is interpreted by lawyers, but if it matters the users data is stored encrypted when not in use:

Supabase does not use the database data for other purposes per their terms.
Nothing in the software/service prevents you from deleting customer data on demand.

How can I export a table from the database using web API? Like a copy command in psql. I don't want to raise the limit of 1000 rows so maybe there is another option like dumping to /tmp and then downloading the file?

really stupid question, but is supabase intended for scale?

Instead of users, how many requests/s do you expect?
What are your requirements for availability for writes?
Supabase won't scale horizontally as-is, but it can easily be used for MVP - in the worst case, you can move to self-hosted with a beefy primary and multiple read replicas

I actually don't know yet. Maybe im overestimating, because alot of the stuff I need might be easily solved via a CDN

Everything I know either produces scaling issues later, or programming issues earlier ;-). Supabase is more on the "elastic, but won't force you to think about scaling from the start" side.

Not-necessarily-fresh read-only, and especially cache'able read-only requests are relatively easy to scale on pretty much any platform.

50k-100k/s is a lot, wow. I've only found benchmarks for 1-2k/s >_>

There's a saying that you should first focus on providing a product that might bring in a million users, and then scale afterwards. Bring in the users by building a great product, and then focus on scalability when you need to. You can often make an otherwise slow product appear much faster through clever use of animations, and interesting loading indicators. 

That's not to say you don't invest in sufficient architecture at the start, but that you don't worry too much about scalability before it becomes necessary.

50-100K/s is a lot for a single server to handle, I'd argue too much, and I'd almost guarantee you'd need replicas and load balancing. This page (https://severalnines.com/resources/database-management-tutorials/postgresql-load-balancing-haproxy) mentions HAProxy to handle that, while https://www.postgresql.org/docs/current/high-availability.html has some in-depth resources for it.

It also depends on the load, 50K `SELECT`s with only a single table are going to be easier to handle than 50K `SELECT`s where you have `JOIN`, `WHERE` and other filters in place - in the same way that returning `hello world` is quicker than returning computed or calculated responses. Creating partitions and indexes definitely helps in those cases, and Postgres is smart enough to cache common queries so it knows exactly where to look for data in subsequent requests that are using the same query.

Hello. Is there a way to clone an instance ie i'm setting up policies via 'authentication/policies/new policy' etc on my current supabase instance, which will essentially become 'dev / staging'. Once my app is ready and I want to create a fresh 'prod' instance, can i clone (without data)my current one? What is a good workflow here?  Thanks

I think the best workflow is to create a project from start using migrations. That was you can spin up another instance easier

umm refresh token aren't suppose to expire right?

but they can only be used once, so if you burned a refresh token on a failed request then you will need to relogin

ye the access token is set to expire after 1hr but refresh token expires shortly after its created
