I know, i think when inserting inside storage.objects, nothing is really persisted in S3. Btw i know theres is no such thing as folder in S3. My usecase tho is that i want to build an app similar to Google Drive and i want to generate my user’s root folder based on what is in supabase storage. Thats is why i wanted to create some default sub “folders” when a user sign up. Just so you understand my first question.

Maybe u can use the supabase api to upload the same empty folder placeholder file as the one by Supabase: /.emptyFolderPlaceholder

Hey, quick question related to postgres function which can make external api request. For our use case we need to fetch alot data from a third party api. Due to rate limit we using 3 proxy instance to avoid hitting the IP ban. In case of using postgres function to call the same third party api, is there a way to avoid the IP ban. Is there a option of addition IP. Thanks. Please let me know if my question is not clear. The use case is a fintech tool that need alot of financial data.

Yes, I want to do that. I think in this video it's shown to be done directly via supabase. My concern is if there is a way to make those request via multiple IP to avoid IP ban for service that limit the number of request per IP.

Hey all - any suggestions on how to implement usernames? I see that it is possible to add a field directly to the users table, but is it bad practice to modify that table? Additionally, I noticed RLS is not enabled for the users table... does this mean users could technically just set their username at any time to anything without any authoritative server validation? (Or any field on the users table for that matter...?)

The auth schema shouldn't be exposed through the API, so users shouldn't be able to change the users table themselves.

No idea, I'd guess it's not exposed through PostgREST at all.

I've just read more about Function Hooks - what are the deliverability and ordering guarantees? Will a failing request be retried, and can retries be delivered out of order (fail -> other notification about the same table or row -> retry of the old fail)?
