it takes the mel and unfurls it to a Listenable And Enjoyable audio file
  • p
    gooot it

do you think any of them would have any luck being trained on a corpus of non-speech sounds?
  • p
    like, say....short oneshot drum samples
  • p
like. as a musician i've already gotten some really interesting samples from just letting jukebox run with no input given
  • h
i remember google did an instrument blending thing
  • h
    though it unfortunately sucked
  • p
yeah, that was a while ago
  • p
    i think like
  • h
you could try wavenet maybe for the drums
  • p
    OOH
  • c
    oh yeah wavenet is good
  • c
since its more general purpose from what ive heard
  • p
    ok sick
  • p
and yeah i feel like a neural net would do percussive unpitched sounds better than melodic ones
  • p
i feel like the reason google's neural synth sucked was because they were forcing the output to a specific pitch
  • h
  • h
they even used it on drums
  • p
    o shoot!
  • p
lol i shoulda figured someone else already beat me to this idea 🙃
  • h
  • m

  • m
well, thats making models in a nutshell
  • m
    fustrating and dissapointment
  • m
is the word "stu p i d" blocked lol
