    > I use the journal note icon to create new daily journal notes. Until a few days ago I think I was able to use the same icon to quickly switch to today's journal. (...) @User Does it fail on creating a new journal, or is it just not as you expected? On my setup a journal note is created inside the current domain (so i can have multiple sets of journal notes). Not sure if it is default settings or not.

@User @User lookup command has been deprecated but the shortcut for lookup (cmd/ctrl+shfit+s) has been re-mapped to open lookup with the right icons selected for creating scratch notes https://dendron.so/notes/a7c3a810-28c8-4b47-96a6-8156b1524af3.html#passing-arguments-to-lookup

    > I use the journal note icon to create new daily journal notes. Until a few days ago I think I was able to use the same icon to quickly switch to today's journal. This seems to no longer work. Clicking the icon suggests the proper day but only show 'Create New' which obviously fails the second time I do this. Am I missing something or am I just doing it wrong? @User this is a bug. will fix this today. you can get rid of the message by using the down arrow to select the first line (by default, you will have the journal name highlighted without the first line in the dropdown selected)

I Guys, I'm having an issue trying to enabling snippets; I've been on it a while now and any suggestion is appreciated! I cannot find any workspace: open user settings (json file) reference: https://www.dendron.so/notes/9eca1992-7540-4d9d-97fb-328b27748b2c.html#cant-autocomplete-snippets-inline:~:text=Can%E2%80%99t%20autocomplete%20snippets%20inline

In the meantime I realised there's a keybinding for it which is even better

@User do you have a workspace open? you only have workspace settings available if you have a workspace open. dendron will initialize one when you run
    initialize workspace
    https://stackoverflow.com/questions/44629890/what-is-a-workspace-in-visual-studio-code#:~:text=A%20Visual%20Studio%20Code%20workspace,and%20preferences%20of%20a%20workspace.&text=A%20workspace%20is%20just%20a%20text%20file%20with%20a%20(.

Are the snippets not showing or you can't get them to autocomplete? For the settings file I usually use command palette to run the command preferences (json). I'm not at my laptop right now so maybe the name is slightly different

I created a json file in .vscode folder in vault folder, called setting.json and added this: "editor.suggest.showSnippets": true Nothing has changed; Basically, I don't know what I am doing. 😫

🤔 Anyway, I think it will be easier if the documentation here, instead of saying: 1. go to > workspace: open user settings (json) just said: 1. go to> command palette -> Preferences: Open Default Settings (JSON)...

Thank you guys: from here: https://code.visualstudio.com/docs/editor/userdefinedsnippets I check the json file from command palette and i Notice that this should be enabled: "editor.tabCompletion": "on" ; Mine was set to "off" by default. Unfortunately now, I had another issue while trying to set it to true: 'Cannot edit in read-only editor' 😅 Still working on this one.

I may be glossing over something obvious, but when using wikilink syntax (
    [[Topic|some.deeply.nested.page]]
) is it possible to include an anchor/heading link? e.g.
    #my-heading
    ?

I also noticed today that I didn't seem able to combine a wildcard header reference and an offset together, at least in the preview, e.g.
    ((ref:[[cncf.kubernetes.replicationcontroller]]#Definition:#*,3))
    ((ref:[[cncf.kubernetes.replicationcontroller]]#Definition,3:#*))

Can I combine a note reference on the first anchor and an offset from it? The preview comes up empty with the second syntax above, which I thought expressed that

I'll take another look tomorrow and and try to find the relevant code, it might just be me misunderstanding the syntax after too little coffee haha

the second form should work. we currently have a bug where it does not work if there is no next header 😅

there’s two reasons this might happen: either the extension just upgraded (it’s a sizable install) or you have a note with a reference that is referencing another note which is referencing the former
