looks like it might be related to this: https://github.com/microsoft/vscode/issues/34525

but you might want to try it as "cpp" instead of "c++"

this is my first day of dendron and vs code (usually i live in intellij) so im learning everything at once
  • s

dendron is not the worst way to learn VSCode actually

and at least ya aren't going full-dumbass like me and tried to get emacs working with DOOMEmacs and org-roam as your first attempt at managing your knowledge 😅

so far the tutorials are really nice and having an active discord beats the old style of subreddit community

i'm halfway decent in both emacs and vim, but neither play super nicely on windows

vscode just smeggin works, and it also just smeggin works on linux too

big heavy ide's (and the languages they were built for) also make my brain hurt a lot a lot

fortunately i dev on linux and mac so i have really great vim support. one thing that sold me on dendron is that i can just sync it with git

so vscode is about as heavy as i abide, i know emacs can feel heavy, but it will always feel lighter than something like Visual Studio, IntelliJ or Eclipse for me.

the thing that really sold me on Dendron is the fact it has heirarchies/schemas and is designed to let one refactor their notes.

you really have to buy into an ecosystem and force yourself to build a workflow for ides to work emacs and vim let you be a little more free and with plugins can be as powerful

i stick with intellij because it has a workflow almost identical to what I was building with plugins in vim so the switch was easy, but thats purely coincidental imo
