That is a good point. Even for leaf nodes,

should be able to rename notes just like

Rename note

does.

Rename note

exists for the completeness of the feature because we still want users to be able to rename their notes without moving the children along with it. This bring up a discussion point about having sensible aliases for common hierarchy related commands that are more user-friendly. Definitely something we want to focus on at some point. I'll have your comments noted for the future 🙂

how does one embed and preview an online video? it seems too much to put them into assets. with a standard youtube embed code i gat this

this is an issue with the webview in vscode. we're investigating workarounds. could you submit an issue so we can publicly track this? 🙏

Does the Dendron export have to use Github, or can you export to any GIT server?

you can use git as the backend sync for dendron notes, and that works with any git server

when you export notes from dendron, we export plain text files which you can use with anything you’d like

And a note for anyone stuck using Confluence at work. You can take your Markdown notes from Dendron and copy and past them into Confluence as a Markdown block. Works great.

I'd love a keyboard shortcut to close the Markdown Preview. I keep trying to use CTRL+W and I close the not instead of the preview.

Or is it CTRL+X. Can't remember now.

There's the command "View: Close Editors in Other Groups". You could bind that to a key if it isn't.

it does. But if the focus is on the note it closes the note. So I pop preview, then make an edit, and type CTRL+W and the note closes.

Is there any way to copy an email and somehow convert the rich formatting into Markdown for pasting into Dendron?

we've been talking about a toggle preview command internally. if you submit is as a feature request, it could make a good CROP candidate

when you say copy an email, do you mean a link or something else?

So someone sends me an email that I want to save as a note, and it already had formatting that I would like to retain rather than paste in as plain text and have to format it.
