Configuring VS Code + github is a lot to digest if you're not living it every day. I'll get there though 🙂

Is there any way to config the way to open a link in a dendron published note using GitHub Pages. I want to set a link as open in new tab. Will set up like this in note work?

Would you guys ever consider attempting to fix the VScode multi font size issue? Basically being able to render headings and such in a larger font in the editor. It's presently not supported of course but I would say it is the biggest issue with using VScode as an MD/org editor. (The preview is nice but having two windows open for every file is a pain and just not a very nice editing experience)

There is actually a custom editor planned that would have a more "WYSIWYG" editing experience, which would solve the font size issue, and would eliminate the need for having the preview open.

Interesting... I do like the idea, although I personally think a plugin/extension makes more sense in many ways. The last thing the world needs is another god damn text editor :) just looking up a list of markdown editors shows a truly astonishing array in various states of development, abandonment and maintenance.

Would you be planning to go more the way of caret md?

Oh, I meant a custom editor within VSCode. That's an option for extensions, it just takes quite a bit of work.

Oh, i see. That does sound like a much better idea... saves so much hassle dealing with all the extraneous "stuff" you need to make a working editor

I would have thought VSCode is already pretty close to being WYSIWYG. At least in the Caret sense. Not so much like Typora

we're still investigating the best way to make a good editor experience in vscode. ideally we could adjust the font in such a way that we can re-use the existing editor, worst case is we have to implement a custom editor within vscode

A good idea for sure. I am mostly asking because I actually took a crack at implementing this once, it was mostly fairly easy but I eventually got bogged down by my lack of knowledge of typescript and of VSCode. I vaguely remember I got stuck at modifying the binary structure of the token data. I think it was just one little blob of memory that was divided up into a few bits for colour a few for font data, my bit manipulation in typescript skills...... well they aren't there :)

or also all of its children?

Are there some new installation instructions for v49 and its extensions given the new preview?

One of them is for the built in markdown preview. There isn't an official way to hide buttons in the tab bar line, but it looks like people have found some workarounds using CSS to customize the UI of VSCode. See here: https://github.com/microsoft/vscode/issues/46403

I believe there isn't anything new you need to do yet (preview V1 is not fully deprecated). Once we switch to V2 entirely, the additional extension could be removed. We will make sure we give everyone instructions to do so when it happens.

coming back to this as the situation is now a little different. I understood that dendron's behavior has changed and uses it's own "goto note" command now. But even with that, i'm not able to create a new file when following a link to a non-existing file. What i did is: 1. create link to new diagram, e.g.

command -> note does not exist error 3. try

ctrl+click

-> nothing happens 4. try

F12

-> "no definition found" error is there any way to make my workflow work again? it is cumbersome to manually create empty

if you do this, please make an option to turn it off... syntax highlighting is enough in the editor, font sizes, margins, etc. are for the rendered HTML

I always have VSCode open (at least 2 windows since switching to Dendron), that's my Markdown editor, installing another would be redundant... I use something else on my tablet, because VSCode doesn't run on iOS or Droid, and I'm always forgetting I don't have my VSCode shortcuts... yuk!

Currently the dendron preview in vscode doesn’t render Katex formula, does it? Just want to confirm because mine does not. But the static pages using

display the Katex formula correctly
