Hi all Is there a way to generate the Frontmatter for a MD file that was created outside of Dendron. Is there a workflow that others use?

I tried running the Dendron:Doctor but it is not adding Frontmatter to all of the new MD files.

I generate a site preview, and I see the preview has the word "Root" as a H1 heading. I tried removing the title in the frontmatter, but that didn't help

what is the best way to learn dendron? I want to use it to take notes and publish it on github. Also maybe use it as a blog writing tool to write simple blogs and convert them to static website of my own

if you move files outside of Dendron, you'll need to run the command "Dendron: Reload Index", until then Dendron will assume that no changes have been made (& if your changes include renaming or moving files that Dendron does know about, it will error that it can't find them... until the index is reloaded)

Hi again. Is just me that gets a bit frustrated when you write a blob of text and then you start reading it to fill any missing gap and you see that makes all the sense to add a specific wiki link, but you want to keep the "text as is". In this case, I need to add the wiki link and right after that I need to edit the same wiki link to include a label, that is already written in the text. I find this quite annoying and time consuming, in particular if you need to add 3-4 words in the labelling field. Many times these words are the words that are already defined in the title of the note that we are inserting as wiki link. Does anyone feel the same need? Am I doing something wrong?

Okay if the Note you want to link to already exists, you can look it up and use the copy note link button in the Lookup which copys the note title as label for the link

maybe I'm misunderstanding ... but if you mean you want to turn some existing text into a link to a new note, then you could do this: select text; copy; run

(from the change-case extension); type

to create a wikilink;

cmd-click

to create the note; paste the the text you copied into the

title:

attribute in the YAML frontmatter of the new file.

alternative is to select the text you want to extract and open the lookup making sure the Extract Selection is active and then copy the note link from the new note

command moves the current file and its descendants into the

archive.*

namespace. For this to be really useful, shouldn't the

archive.*

namespace be excluded from Dendron's index, so that they don't show up in Backlinks, the Graph, or as targets for wikilinks?

I most likely didn't explain myself correctly, but I was mentioning the use case where the note already exists and I want to reference it in a block of text that also already exists. A kind of inserting the wiki link with the label field fulfil with the existing text or the note's title.
