I want to open the file outside vscode, because it's an word/excel/ppt/pdf document

these are usecases from work, where I rely on infos from others who unfortunately don't put things into dendron

Okay I just noticed the file schema works with cmd click as well on the link tried with a png didn't find a pdf lying around but maybe that will work as well

I can live with the fact, that

Dendron: Open Link

works fine for externals files and hopefully also for other services. I'll try that tommorow. But not having to select the whole link with the cursor to open it with the command or just clicking the external link on the preview would be a nice feature. Can anyone help out on setting up this feature request?

Can this be made WYSWYG drag and drop to lessen the friction while constructing an argument? Ive found much of the utility of mindmapping apps is the ability to drag and drop and refactor nodes ad you think. In inplementations when you need to edit the source to rearrange nodes, it creates friction.

Does anyone have a published workspace that we can take a look at, so we can have an idea of how to do note-taking with Dendron? I feel like there's a whole lot of complexity with how it "should be done." I started trying out Dendron because I simply want something better than Evernote. 😁

Not that I know of. However, I've found the 'Move line' shortcuts (Alt+UpArrow/DownArrow) as well as the 'Indent/Outdent line' shortcuts (Ctrl+]/[) in VSCode to come in handy for rearranging and indenting text.

is there a way to trigger a VSCode command from the integrated terminal? I do all my git stuff in PowerShell, so would be nice if I could modify my pull script to refresh Dendron, if that's the repo that got pulled

eh, no biggie... I'll just assign a shortcut key to it, so I don't have to open the command pallet every time I switch back & forth between personal & work machines

I just edited my workspace.code-workspace file to include this in the settings block:

however, when I create a new daily note, it's not using the journal schema (and associated template) am I doing this wrong?

I admit to not being an expert, but the ramp-up is pretty steep. No obvious way to do ordered lists or bullets? The best I could find was selecting a block of text and using the shortcut that retroactively applies an asterisk but I am looking for a new bullet to be created when I hit return and if it is ordered, for the numbering to be incremented and if i hit tab, for the numbering to be reset to 1

well for normal lists you can take a look at this ->https://wiki.dendron.so/notes/692fa114-f798-467f-a0b9-3cccc327aa6f.html#auto-bullet-list you could probably do this for numbers as well since numbered lists don't need to be numbered correctly in the actual file for it to be correct in the preview.

ok --tx will look around for an extenstion. It might be just a matter of creating the document stubs, then flipping out into an external app for content creation, then flipping back into Dendron for stuff that can only been done in Dendron
