thanks... I don't know why but I had it at the root of dendron.yml, when I moved it inside of site then it worked... useNoteTitleForLink doesn't seem to work in either place, and I can't test usePrettyRefs because I can't gets refs to work at all

works either way. dendron is portable in the sense that anyone using that vault can get the same. markdown (depending on where you save it) might be specific to your machine

The closest thing I came to it was this extension. https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=Sycl.markdown-command-runner You'd enter something like this in the code block to open a folder, and it will open the folder in File Explorer.

And the other option would be to use html such as, Click to open Folder This will only work within a browser, however.

I have "Paste Image: Name Prefix" set to ${currentFileNameWithoutExt} so that my images have the file they're associated to as part of their name. However, when I rename a markdown file using the Dendron rename command, it doesn't change the images to match the new name. Is that expected behavior if that Name Prefix is set? Is there some way to 'link' the image name to its associated document name?

no, we currently don't rename the image file. feel free to submit a feature request for that 🙏

Thanks ... so what 1) about showing and not showing the header (the tutorial references removing the ,1 inside the reference) and 2) should the keybinding CMD-SHIFT-R when applied to a heading give me that new syntax?

The keybinding cmd shift r should give you the ref of the whole note and only the highlighted header if you highlight one. I think the ,1 is for the old syntax the new method is stated in the page I've linked just now

OK thanks for the info about the updated syntax. But when I highlight a heading, a reference to the whole note is created and displayed in the page where the reference is pasted. Not just the text from the heading I've selected. I suspect this is something dumb I'm doing... sorry 😫

Yes, I found that too - but using the old ((ref: syntax... And does CMD-SHIFT-R work for you to get just the highlighted text, or is a reference to the whole note created?

CMD + Shift + R | --> highlight a heading --> gives you the content under the header without the header itself | ---> not highlighting anything --> gives you the reference of the whole note
