Thank you, it worked this time. I'm going to delete my question to keep this space tidy.

I still can't get my vault to preview or publish. I'm getting the "Cannot get/" error on the browser every time I try it. I have checked to see of an application is using port 8080 using >netstat -aon | find "8080", it returns empty. Then I also created a new inbound rule to open port 8080 in Windows Defender Firewall Advanced Security, and then checked to see if it is open in command promp >netsh firewall show stat, and it shows port 8080 is open, and still I'm getting the "Cannot get/" error when I try to preview site in Dendron. I have multiple vaults, perhaps I need to specify to preview just one vault?

can you check under your workspace root if

node_modules

is empty? if so, can you run

npm install

from the root? (there should be a package.json file there)

I get this when I run "npm install" from the Terminal in VSCode: ..>npm install 'npm' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. - I don't have node_modules file in my workspace root. - Also, looks like I don't have npm installed. Do I need npm (or Node.js) in order to publish site? - Can I install npm as an extension in VSCode?

The problem is the lower case files don't exist.

Even tried to rename them from bash using

mv

and

rename

and I get similar errors saying the lower case files exist even though they don't.

ah, that's because i didn't publish it. link will work now

are you on mac? i believe mac has case-preserving file system by default which lets you create mixed-case names but will normalize everything to lower case. the way to fix this is to actually move them to a diff folder and then move them back with the right casing

Moved them to a new directory (WSL) and I get the same error using

rename

and

mv

Windows isn't case sensitive if I'm not wrong. So it sees both files as the same. What I'd try is to name it to something else and then to the lower-case version

yeah, Windows is wonky with casing... it's case insensitive but it preserves case, so if you try to rename by changing case only, it sees no change... you have to rename it twice or move it & move it back... super annoying (but not enough for me to switch away from it 🙂 )

Your link to install node worked. I installed Node.js, made sure node worked in the integrated Terminal in VSCode, reloaded windows, made sure I have the 8080 port open, and then tried the Site Preview. I still got the "Cannot Get /" error. I'm having a bit of an issue with links. I can get the ctrl+shif+r and paste it in but can't get it to show the preview in the preview pain of the link I linked. I read that pretty refs needs to be on but I see it as on.

Maybe I'm naive or something. Trying to move all my notes over. Thanks if you can help if not thanks for reading!
