yeah, the preview is just a wrapper around the cmd line and we'll be working on making it more integrated in future releases. it also auto updates if it finds that node dependencies are out of date which might account for the fans

@kevins8 - is it possible to host a Dendron website using Amazon S3 (with static site hosting enabled)? By uploading the artifacts generated at path ({workspaceRoot}/build/site) to the S3 bucket?

I see from the networks tab in browser: in addition to requesting static content over http it also opens a web socket to browser-sync client. Is this websocket connection really needed to view the website?

yep it is. the web socket client is only there for the local preview but not when your building for production

Is it currently possible to refer to any block within a header? so far I have found ways to refer to headings only. And I ran into an obstacle: if I change the header text, the reference seems to be lost. Apparently the "id" is the text itself and not the block itself. That's right? 🙂

yeah, your right. currently only headers can be referenced (or the whole page, or a header range). we have arbitrary references to blocks using ids on the roadmap

block reference means mentioning a block (just like a page) and block embed means what Dendron is having now that is showing all the contents in a block when referenced
