Just wondering, is there a plugin or component that would allow VSCode to open unsupported document types in the OS native tool? For instance the video I recently mentioned, when I click on the link it tries to open in VSCode rather than my system's video player.

. the note should be available in both structures. how would you deal with this? set aside the problem of file name character limit.

My understanding and usage of file names as opposed to folders is that it means something is both a parent and a piece of content. For example, if I wanted a hierarchy that was python.*, I would also want a note that was just python for very top level information. With folders I would have to have a folder python that contained all descendants, and also a md or txt file named python that was at the same level as the folder. This just isn’t as nice for me. In addition, the flat file listing works better for file explorer and command line search in my experience, as you have less name duplication and a more guided structure to make sure you’re searching for the exact file you want to find. For instance, if I had a note .workflow in the python. and ruby.* hierarchies, in the shell or file explorer or spotlight, I can search for python.workflow if I know I want that one, or I can just search for “workflow” if I want to produce all of them. With folders I find I have a harder time revealing only the right child with the same names as quickly, and that searches for “workflow” would also yield the folders in addition to the files that I want.

in a note's front matter is rendered as its title when publishing and in previews, I'd like my daily notes to have full date titles in some form (e.g. '23/01/2020' rather than '23'). Is there a way to achieve this using schemas and templates? I think the hierarchy (e.g.

) use useful, but the month's day number as a sole note title is a bit lacking. Thoughts?

@User The way to think about having items that map to multiple categories in Dendron is to use alternative constructs (eg. tags and backlinks).
