When adding a link with [[]] the searching starts off great - but if you make a mistake and backspace a couple of characters the matching doesn't start over - you have to delete everything including the [[]] to get the matching to startup again.

So I was wondering if It would be feasible to write a pod that interacts with Jira to import my assigned Issues and maybe export new comments / Issues usw. through the Pod. It seems like I will need to look at Pods.

Hass anyone found a theme that will syntax highlight [[ ]] and the content between?

For that to work their would be the need to return syntax highlight information for it. And i don't know if these informations currently get returned from Dendron.

i tend to have journal notes on various levels of my hierarchy so none of the current settings work for me right away - i always have to adjust the note name when creating one via hotkey. I'm wondering if it would be a good idea to define a general journal parent name in settings ("journal") and whenever a journal note gets created, dendron could traverse up the hierarchy until it finds one and place the note there. if there is none, "journal" at root level will be created. @User Any thoughts on this?

hmm an option could be the ability to specify a hirachy as a journal root for a namespace

a single root wouldn't help for multiple journals (e.g. for different projects). this is why i proposed something more dynamic

well if you have a Projects namespace and you specify a child journal then it would be nice if you could specify that child as journal root so that depending in which project you are the journal gets generated in that child you specified.

yes, i think we are talking about the same thing. right now it works, if my journal-root is always on the same level, like

but if i have additionally

training.[a-z].journal

, i need to manually edit the name. Hence, my request for dendron to look up the journal-root depending on where i'm currently at

the schema could also be a place for defining journal roots 🤔

@User @User I actually have been running into the same issue 😅 I think it makes sense to define journals in the schema as an optional attribute. When creating a journal note with a current opened note, Dendron will create a journal note based on the closest parent/sibling that has a journal schema. If none is found, default to current behavior.

Did the update to dendron 17 break anybody else's backlinks? Mine no longer show up in the explorer

@User a change in the behavior is that backlinks won't show if the note doesn't have any backlinks to it. we also have integrated backlinks into dendron instead of relying on the markdown-notes extension. can you confirm whether its not one of the aforementioned issues?

@User 😫 feeling a little silly, but after testing it out myself I think you are correct in that I was just used to the old backlink previews.

I'm getting a strange error when I open the preview: "still connecting to engine..." previously I also had the message that the extension took very long to start so probably it'S connected. Does anyone else see this and any ideas how to fix it?
