Apologies for the possibly dumb question: does anyone here know how to use tags in Dendron? I know how to create tags but I don't see any support for them when creating new ones (lookup) or looking for them in general. They also don't show up in my Backlinks panel as the documentation seems to imply, so I'm probably doing something wrong... 🤔

How do you create them? Can you share an example?

@User yep. right now the way you can see all tags is by using the backlinks panel of

myroot.tags.nameoftag

@User that's correct. You will need to create a corresponding note myroot.tags.nameoftag e.g. by clicking it. Then the back link pa el shows the note with the link

uhh, aaah so I have to create a note for the tag! that's the piece I was missing

if you have vscode open, it will open the file in your current vscode window (so if dendron is open, it will). if you don't, it looks like it will just open the file

Hey, I recently initialized a brand new Dendron workspace (first joined this server like months ago and been meaning to try it out for ages) and I'm getting this error while initializing the vault with the default documentation notes. I did check out the troubleshooting link, and it's definitely valid yaml and it does have the parent root key

hello, new user here, and i'm struggling to hotkey the "use lookup to insert a link" thing

how do i correctly supply the argument?

i put this:

but when i select a note in the lookup it just opens that note instead of inserting a link

@User that’s a regression in our starting notes from the 0.15 release. we fixed it in 0.16. you can either initialize a new workspace or delete the dendron.schema.yml file in your current workspace

@User dendron has a copy note link command, ‘dendron: copy link’ the copy link from lookup is meant for copying links from multiple notes when using multi-select

oh, i thought it would let me grab a link to a note without having to open it
