What I do miss from org-mode is the complete note-taking ecosystem that comes along with it. As @User says there is so much to org-mode that has grown because of the open source nature of it over decades it has features that I never have touched

But org-mode is a great example of a hybrid of back-linking and hierarchy that you mention being a goal of Dendron. It is just wrapped up in emacs which is an amazing but massive beast with an extremely steep learning curve.

Importing of org files that allows you to break up a single huge note into a dendron hierarchy would be amazing

But I also think dendron could benefit from features like agenda view, quick capture, clocking time to notes, assigning deadlines to todos, and tagging

    > But I also think dendron could benefit from features like agenda view, quick capture, clocking time to notes, assigning deadlines to todos, and tagging @gnomesoup Fully agree these are also my favourite parts of Org mode. To be fair I think Dendron already provides quick capture via snippets and tagging via wiki links. I replicate a simple agenda todo view via the To-do tree extension. So I only really miss clocking time. Some limitations like todo keywords are rooted in the missing support of any of this in markdown I guess. But the. Dendron is more a knowledge management tool than a complete task and life manager as Org mode supports.

I also found the To-Do Tree Extension. It is nice and simple. I like how it highlights uncompleted tasks but I need to figure out how to change the color.

Agenda view is so much more than todo lists though, it really is a flexible back-link viewing utility when you think about it

Sure agenda views are an awesome interface to slice your data in different ways.

I'm not a t my PC right now. I think it's mentioned in the documentation. I can check tomorrow what I have set

@User @User at the end of the day, dendron wants to be help people better manage information. task and life management is an important component of that. while we don't have all the features of org-mode, I like to find the 80/20 parts of org-mode that makes sense to implement in dendron as far as dendron being rooted in markdown, we already have custom syntax when it comes to note references and this is likely only to grow. the main bottleneck today is time. it will all come, just not all at once 😅

I think org-mode is as strong as it is because it is an open source tool built on an open source platform. Since you have the exact same formula in Dendron and VSCode, you can be just as powerful without all the baggage.

Plus, VSCode is way more accessible than Emacs particularly if forced on windows like I am.

@User looking at the logs, there's nothing obvious that's jumping out at me. does regular lookup work? if you initialize a new workspace, does the treeview work?

@User looked into setting colored tabs based on schema. tldr: customizing tabs is rather limited. you can only set the color of active/background tabs and there wasn't a way to change the title (that I could find) wrote more detailed findings on the [ticket](https://github.com/dendronhq/dendron/issues/261) let me know if this would still be useful. if anyone knows how to update the tab title in vscode, input appreciated 🙏

@User I had similar issues when moving my vault folders/files elsewhere. I also fixed by initializing a new dendron workspace and moving files over. 🤷‍♂️

@User @User there is a bug with 0.12.6 with tree view. it will be fixed in today's release. you can play with it early by installing the following vsix file: https://www.dropbox.com/s/zbtqcmyd3pcr96e/dendron-0.12.7-alpha.6.vsix?dl=0
