Visual Studio Code can sync your settings etc., and it's free. You can sync your Dendron workspace using git, with a free service like GitHub or GitLab.

"You can sync your Dendron workspace using git, with a free service like GitHub or GitLab." Does it do it automatically?

And if so, can you transfer notes from obsidian md to dendron ?

There is a command "Dendron: Workspace Sync". You have to run the command yourself, but it will handle everything else once set up. There are also some extensions for VSCode that automatically sync git repositories if you want it more automatic.

There is a "Markdown Import Pod" which should be able to import those notes.

I am a little stuck between switching from Obsidian MD to Dendron. I do not know much about Dendron, and I haven't used visual studio that much, so I'll have to learn a little new syntax. I assume that there are a lot more extensions in VSC which makes Dendron better, but what are the differences between dendron and obsidian?

I need to sync between two computers, and it is quite a lot for obsidian sync to pay for one function of sync

Almost totally off topic for around here, but omg I have fallen in love with the M1 MacBook Air. I have two 16in MBPs (mine's the 6 core i7, work provided an 8 core i9), but the silent stamina of the MBA is something to behold. I've never liked a machine as much as this

Cannot speak highly enough of the Air, even when running x86 apps I've yet to notice a performance impact. You can throw so much at the thing, it's almost magical

Yeah that's the one missing feature atm. It can drive ultra-wides though, if it's time for an upgrade 😉
