If I were to buy an M1 right now, I would go for the Mac mini, as I don't need to mobility. It would be nice to have a M1 Macbook Pro, but I'm also waiting it out until the next batch of new products 😄 hopefully the startup I'm in gets more funding and replace my docker-hating-over-heating 2017 Macbook Pro

I personally do not prefer the Apple ecosystem since it seems to be becoming a walled garden. The M1 CPU laptops do look good

Hello all! Just wanted to let everyone know that the full matrix has been posted (relevant links inside): https://notes.short2things.io/app-feature-matrix If there are any errors in the dendron column, please let me know.

I use VSCodium for Dendron (I do not use VScode for primary work) But I get your point.

Regarding "Apple ecosystem being walled garden" comment : I wonder if M1 laptops will be equally lucrative if one decides to run ARM linux on it (I'm not even sure if one can run linux on it now. But if not, I think it is only a matter of time before someone makes it possible)

There are definitely projects in the works for ARM Linux, though I’ve lost track of them and their viability atm

It will be definitely interesting if Linux pans out on M1 (although , Linux itself in many cases bloated and the whole systemd debate is a different story).

Hey folks! Just started using dendron and looking forward to using it to help organize my thoughts and notes better! I was wondering if there was a way to toss a dark theme on the markdown preview? Sorry if this was asked before, I did a quick search in chat and didn't find anything!

I saw some css themes in github. Never tried it but I guess its likely possible to configure preview with css

We appreciate you and I appreciate the time Kevin took to show me the workflow for Dendron in a call last week. It has been super helpful

    you can set
    markdown-preview-enhanced.previewTheme
. I have it set to
    none.css
so that it follows my vscode theme. IIRC you can also provide your own css for it. I have to do that because
    none.css
strips out the markdown styling in some of the provided css and I need some of those 😄

Oh perfect! I'm not sure where that's at off the top but I'll dig into it once I get back to the computer in a bit. This would be great so everything is still cohesive theme wise!

you can cmd/ctrl + shift + p into workspace setting and set
    Markdown-preview-enhanced: Preview Theme
    or open
    dendron.code-workspace
    and add the line
    "markdown-preview-enhanced.previewTheme": "none.css",
    to
    "settings"

This is fantastic! I see what you mean by none.css stripping down some of the md styling. My tables are a bit out of wack now. No worries though I can just chose one of the other dark themes and that should work out well for now unless it really bothers me later. Thank you so much! Oh and sorry for not bringing this up in #735365126227493004 at first! 😅

you can also set separate css for code blocks by the way.

think of the channel topics as schemas (https://dendron.so/notes/c5e5adde-5459-409b-b34d-a0d75cbb1052.html) - they're there to help you find your way but your also free to step outside them 😇

Can confirm that the Macbook Air is amazing. For VSCode + regular webdev, it's absolutely sufficient and never gets hot and lasts multiple days without power. I don't hook it up to an external monitor yet though so that may change things?

Not quite a dendron question but: How do you personally manage a ton of vscode extensions? I'm able to somewhat separate them in code containers, but have yet to really utilize workspaces. Is there a solution? My install is starting to get very bloated
