yep, that's the one πŸ™‚ so dendron has been me starting out. the reason i've been able to do it by myself for this long is because of the community who have contributed immensely --> code wise ( @User ) , docs wise (@User, @User ), financially (@User ), and with moderation and management (@Dendrologist). as you've seen from discord, we're at a point were there are more things to do than what one full time person can keep up with. its a good problem to have but its also why @User is joining, so we can continue to 🌱 πŸš€

Excited about all this πŸ‘ It's taking a bit of time for me to get used to contributing to open source in my free time, but I'm slowly loosening up and hopefully sooner I can help out more πŸ˜„ Dendron is a tool I use everyday and I'm lucky to find something like that to contribute to.

We're a little excited back home! This week has been work work work for Kevin to get this publishing feature ready. So the arrival of some YC swag was a good break moment to try some on.

Says Dendron is difficult to use than Foam. I agree. TBH, I was about to give up on Foam, till @User personally resolved some of my queries. But I stuck to Dendron, cause it feels mature compared to Foam. I also liked the Site output (with Navbar) compared to Foam which does not have nav bar, and I think after a while will become difficult to navigate wihout navbar.

Poking around at the docs more and playing with an initialized workspace, i definitely prefer the opinionated direction that dendron is taking compared to foam. The schemas, and hierarchies were AWESOME to see in action via a live demo. I'll likely make a follow up video on where my explorations lead me, but i'd like to do it justice so i'll need time to play πŸ™ƒ

Congrats @nikivi! Thank you for sharing your computer knowledge and setups. You've been my primary inspiration for investing time in learning computer use for the last few years. Dendron's design principles hit the notes I had thought about for a knowledge management system after using many systems and I've happily made it part of my life. @kevins8 cultivated a really cool community here too. I'm honestly starstruck by this dream team happening 🀩

So I'm asking myself right now if I should get a MacBook Air M1 can anybody recomend it? The why would be my tower is dead and I#m currently using my Shadow PC more then my own tower and I have the Option to extend a mobile contract to get the Air cheaply. Is it any good for webdevelopment?

its something I want to look into personally, especially I'd be curious if you could operate dendron server without starting a workspace

there is a rfc already saying we can use dendron by it simply noticing a dendron.config.yml file so no need to open a workspace

I can imagine one can make a plugin that will on any markdown file opened, get the path of file opened, see if there is config file in the folder the md file is in, if yes, start a server in background and you get full dendron experience from the file opened

this applies to vscode too, not just sublime, but one issue I have now with using dendron is that I have at least 2 vscode windows running, very often more than 2

I've been wondering what the dendron workflow is like for folks who are also using vscode for devwork

speed of opening file, speed of typing (feels nicer, latency is near 0)

I'm not doing dev work but more sysadmin kind of work and I usually have at least two vscode windows open: one for Dendron and one for the rest. I use different themes to have a visual clue which is which

Text Editor Anywhere is a program that lets you highlight any text in the OS and hit a hotkey to pull it into a text editor, and pull it back into the original program when you close it. Sublime Text opens instantly as opposed to VSCode, so with Dendon-Sublime I'd be able to organize and archive any message I type on a computer, and use Dendron with anything on a computer.
