working towards driving down the learning curve ( I think there will be some that will always be there due to the feature set) while preserving the capabilities that make dendron awesome!

Yeah! Once you learn the main concepts of dendron (schemas, templates, etc), it's invaluable!

@User might be a good place to promote dendron a little https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=24206727 . the first comment (as of now) is basically begging for it. EDIT: i just signed up to post a link to dendron there 😉 (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=24207522)

@User is it possible to set the default publish behaviour to require the flag
    published: true
rather than the other way round as it is written in the docs?

@here have a feature request with vscode that is needed to better support dendron's file hierarchy. this will make it possible to have breadcrumbs and vscode native sidebar show dendron's hierarchy in a directory tree format. it needs 20 upvotes before vscode will consider it. all upvotes greatly appreciated 🙏 https://github.com/microsoft/vscode/issues/101135#issuecomment-650206271

"Does not exist but is part of the schema"? @User What does it means
  • k

    kevins8

    08/21/2020, 3:43 AM
it means that according to the schema, those are valid children
  • k

    kevins8

    08/21/2020, 3:44 AM
    eg. in our
    subject
example today, we created the subject schema where
    homework
was a child of the subject
  • k

    kevins8

    08/21/2020, 3:45 AM
so if you create a new subject, eg.
    sub.newsubject.
and typed it into the lookup, we would suggest
    sub.newsubject.homework
    with a
    +
sign next to it to let you know that 1) this note doesn't yet exist 2) its part of your schema
