Curious what the community thinks... - I'm interested naming my Dendron notes with a single word (
    git.md
    ,
    bootstrap.md
    ,
    azure.md
, etc.), then use tags to searching for info (
    #azure-sdk
    ,
    #python-sdk
, etc.). - Rationale: - The hierarchy I would try to name my Dendron files always seemed like tags anyways; highly arbitrary, etc. - Keeps the schema flat - What are your thoughts on this approach?

there should be a dendron for dummies.. i discovered hooks and was using it as a way to create a template for new notes.. but there is a catch with that... every new refactor will apply the hook again and reapply its programming reprinting already printed stuff.. re editing what it edited in the first place etc.... now i read there are features here like schemas and templates and seeds ... so have to read up and try to understand what these features are

since 2016 i've been trying to figure out a PKM framework to effectively store and recall the large amounts of information i had to deal with... i guess everyone tries folders at first... i eventually figured out that i can use the key value pairs format in JSON to keep an index of the information... Dendron strikes a chord with me because it has features i can use for my research management... i hope i will be able to contribute to the project in some way..

Joining the community (welcome!), giving feedback and filing bug reports, helping out with documentation etc. are all great ways to contribute to Dendron. We are also always happy to accept code contributions from anyone too. Glad you like Dendron, and hope it works for your needs!

Anyone have a secret for automatically breaking pages where images span pages? Example: - Images spans two pages on PDF output - I'd like to have the page break just above the image's green border

does anyone know what extension / setting is responsible for auto-adding dashes to markdown lists? on one of my machines if i hit enter it just keeps putting in the dashes making a list, but on this machine it is not.

Do you have Markdown All in One installed? I think that's one of a few different markdown extensions which can do that, and it seems to be the most commonly discussed on here.

Sure thing! That extension is super handy, but also its features can conflict in unexpected ways with Dendron. For instance, it stops my snippets from being expanded in the YAML header of notes. There might be a better option if you're just looking for those two small features for listsโ€ฆย I just don't know what it is, personally. ๐Ÿ˜…

I am interested in managing notes for packages and statistical algorithms in dendron. I know many people use pkg. heirarchy. Could you share your template or schema to document your code or packages. How do you build up your heirarchy. Just trying to get some inspiration. Im talking purely non-software development perspective, more from a data science/AI/ML field.

Hi, just started to use dendron recently, is it possible in any way to create a link that directs to a specific directory or file that are not in the vault?

We have just been discussing that here on Discord and the answer is, I understood, not really. Maybe this needs to be an issue in Github five the interest.

I can definitely agree with the point. sometimes info gets lost in Discord. But it's good for the discourses that are immediate.

It's a chat room, it's amazing for those immediate conversations but I mean, even discord threads completely delete topics when they're finished
