Title: The Influence of Segmental Body Mass Distribution on Cervical Spine Alignment in a Young Adult Cohort Abstract: In the field of biomechanics and postural analysis, the relationship between regional body composition and spinal alignment remains a critical area of inquiry. This cross-sectional investigation examined the association between peripheral and axial body segment dimensions and the sagittal plane positioning of the head and neck in a population of 152 young adults. Postural alignment was quantified via the craniovertebral angle, a standard kinematic measure. Analysis revealed that increased mass in specific anatomical regions—particularly the neck, waist, hip, and upper arm—was significantly correlated with a more anterior head carriage. These findings suggest that mechanical loading from distributed body mass may directly influence cervical posture, providing a biomechanical rationale for integrating body composition management with postural correction strategies in exercise prescription and musculoskeletal health interventions.
