I've worked in environments where you: a) Have redundant everything in the same Citrix site, and use SQL clustering for the DBs; or b) Have completely separate Citrix sites, both identical, and presented to the user via SF using site aggregation. Same as (a), but more flexible - especially for upgrades and outages
Pros and cons to both, but I'd choose option B every single time if given the choice.

What if the site where the storefront is in, is crashed? Disaster recovery

For option B, we'd have SF servers in both sites. Option A... if you're running multiple SF servers, shouldn't be a problem unless the entire site went down.
Option A obviously has outage time associated with it, but if it's something like a DB restore, how long are we talking? Under an hour?

Typically mirror but also depends what’s being used for DR. For example might be a VPX vs physical NetScalers. Also separate sites vs single site. Which control plane is being used.
Yep also in site availability. No single component failure in production.
