If you have Server 2019 you need to configure storage sense https://virtualwarlock.net/configure-storage-sense-in-windows-server-2019/ @Kasper Johansen

Cheat sheet I made for myself, Collection of things. May be helpful

@ray, you are awesome...i am working on some word tables to use when doing health check at clients. they have two columns, one contain best practices and then the other column is to write down how the client has it configured. i can send it to you after i am done if you want.
r
Yea, more information the better I say 🙂 . I take notes for everything I run into. I can't remember it all and often I forget things I only do every once in a while. So, I take notes like a mad man lol.
n
i will upload the tables after i am done with this engagement. thanks
so this article says onedrive is not supported with Roaming, Mandatory, and Temporary profiles. My client is using Ivanti with a mandatory profile as a template. does that mean their environment is not supported?
m
Afaik if you want to use OneDrive on RDSH you must use FSLogix or the very latest Citrix UPM in container mode.
n
@Ray Davis - do you know if there are any required anti-virus exclusions for one drive. My googled search didn't come up with anything. i checked MS documentation didn't find anything. i want to make sure it listed somewhere.............thx
r
ummmm, I am not positive on that to be honest. I know Teams has that, but one drive I am not positive. Anyone else perhaps have this?
b
As far as I know, UPM is not supported as a Profile Container for Onedrive. Something I would like to add :) https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/profile-management/current-release/configure/enable-the-onedrive-container.html
r
That link you posted looks like it’s supported now. Not sure I understand “UPM is not supported as a profile container for onedrive”?
b
It depends if Microsoft supports it. Citrix supports it for sure.
Not found any clear information and my last information is that it isn't.
m
To be clear, you mean you would not recommend UPM for OneDrive as only Citrix supports it, but not Microsoft itself?
r
The docs should be updated. If Citrix has a solution that supports it now, MS docs should be updated to list it. That’s my opinion obviously. But I’m sure somewhere during the development of onedrive support with the container Citrix has, they verified with MS on the path for this.
b
due to missing support, UPM hasn't been an option since ever. tbh, FSL is great but I would give a shot at a POC
m
There was an interesting discussion over at #CLDGD0KNV where somebody told a story how nice and fast the UPM support was, I think it was regards a time zone redirection bug with a privat dll provided. And how much faster and more reliable it was compared to MS support. Too bad the discussion is not available anymore.
r
@newbie1998 I found this in my old notes. From @Nick Panaccio sent me a list of AV exclusion he had I used as a base. Which I used to kick start what I was doing. %ProgramFiles%\Microsoft OneDrive\OneDrive.exe
@Marco Hofmann I use the UPM containers in my lab for one non-presistent VDI and FSLOgix for another. UPM container seems faster to me. Again all based on my lab.
k
Is anyone besides @Jonathan Pitre using CPM containers in production? I am curious about the general stability and performance compared to FSLogix
j
I rolled back to FSL, too much issues for now

What about Onedrive integrated with published apps? Anyone succesful using Fslogix or UPM with Onedrive in pub apps? What are you doing to handle initial authentication? I know there is the cloud mapper third party software but any non-third party options?
