configure set system offload ipv4 forwarding enable set system offload ipv4 vlan enable commit save exit

This might have been an issue with my lab performance all along
j
yep
check if you have usg as well
u
USG based on vyatta as well?
u
This didn't actually resolve my issue. Crap. Still seeing subpar performance jumping vlans
j
yep it is
are they wide open vlans or using any firewall rules?
u
wide open
u
Pretty basic config
u
on the router
j
hmm
u
Even same vlan performance isn't great
u
XenServer Host, VM1 to VM2 on same VLAN only hits 500Mbps
j
which edgeouter do you have?
u
If I switch the vm to vlan 1 it hits 1Gbps
u
EdgeRouter Lite
j
is there swtich or everything direct connected?
is this cli or vm to vm?
also any difference under tools menu?
i know their gui iperf and even bandwidth test always seem slow compared cli or vm to vm
u
Switch, Cisco 3750
u
All cli iperf
u
I can switch the VM to vlan 1 and hit an iperf server on vlan 1 - 1gbps
u
VM Vlan 41 >> Server vlan 1 - 200Mbps
u
VM Vlan 41 >> Server vlan 41 - 500 Mbps
u
The issues is definitely the router

Crap - I liked this thing too. I'll see if I can find some optimizations. Once I turned on offload for vlans I don't see the CPU become too taxed
