I will say that we have already received email alerts that our CVM does not have enough memory and we only have a couple of VMs spun up
Yea so DeDup only works with 24GB assigned to each CVM. We reduced our CVM to 8GB from 16GB per the blog post on the Nutanix site. Compression works though.

yea, those extra dedupe and compression features requires much more RAM. i will tell you for actual prod environments, i don't ever think of starting any less than 16GB for the CVM. If customer plans on doing ANYTHING with dedupe or compression at all, the CVM realistically needs to be 24 or even 32GB if doing both on any containers. Otherwise, yea.. will start getting out of memory errors quick.
