dready: keep in mind that all metadata is on SSD/HDD so if the USB drive dies, you can just rebuild that USB or replace it with a new one and do a fix of AHV and CVM. No problem there

you are right! for my NUC setup it would be still nice have a way to put it on the internal drives. with SM of course you can use SATADOM which is cool of course
