FWIW I believe this will only take effect for new deployments. If you upgrade an existing deployment you should still get 30. I also highly encourage anyone affected by this to let your sales reps/SEs know so they can bring it up with PM. (checked notes, I was mistaken and confused this with other details)

Pretty sure it will take effect once you upgrade, that is what the PM told me. Not gonna take a chance with it, and they have received a lot of complains.. We can't even demo 1 Application (typical 1 CS + LB) and NSGW at the same time now.. Such a weird move from them.. Also if you buy the license now, you will only get the amount to pay for, before you would get the amount + the free VIPs.
c
@CTXMike if that’s the case then there wouldn’t be any reason stopping people putting an old version on and then upgrade to keep the 30 licenses so can only assume it would apply on upgrade.
I can see if they dropped the limit to something like 10 so you can at least trial different scenarios before you look at buying more, but putting the limit at 2 is very low.
m
Yeah, once i got the information that they would change it a month back, it was the first thing i said to our SE and the PM, we cannot demo the strength of ADM.

Actually, where are you seeing this? You sure you’re not looking at the ADM service release notes?
I reviewed my notes and we were told differently, and I can’t see a reference to this in the release notes posted externally.
c
I have upgraded and deployed new and all have 30 licenses. The "two" license note was removed from the release notes.
m
Yes, they changed the release notes within the last 4 hours

In other news, in case you missed it, the ADM service has a freemium version now. It’s limited scope in the sense that it’s only two virtual server licenses, 2 config jobs and 2 stylebooks, but it’s a decent option to kick the tires instead of having to redeem a trial and having it expire within 30 days. https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/citrix-application-delivery-management-service/licensing/citrix-adm-express-account.html
j
I noticed this on our ADM service test. It only allowed two licensed vServers.
c
Yep, cloud ADM now defaults to Express licensing which has the reduced limits. If you provision a trial you should still get 30, after which it’ll revert to Express licensing. Right now this entitlement is different from the on-prem version.
