Yes. We are
HA pair in the DC & 7 branch locations
l
Loves it. Great product. I'm a consultant so have deployed a few sites. Have one pending for the summer.
c
talkin to you through it right now 🙂
s
lol
So we know people are using it. Did you have additional questions Cory?
c
Awesome! Thanks
I wanted to make sure it wasn’t crap.
Are y’all happy with it? We are looking for an sdwan product, we like the fact you can use MAS to manage it. Also are they physical or virtual? Ahv or VMware?
c
To be clear, I'm an employee, but I'm an SME on the SD-WAN side and I've been using it since it was introduced. You can't manage it through MAS, but depending on the deployment it can feed some data into MAS for things like multi-hop Insight. It's centrally managed using either SD-WAN Center (on-prem) or Orchestrator (cloud control plane). Comes in physical and virtual flavors. My lab has an HA pair for the master control node with one being on ESX and the other on AHV. Physical boxes also have some models that include things like LTE, WANopt and SD-WAN in one box, SD-WAN and Palo Alto VM-series in one box, and a few other forthcoming things.

I've got customers with long term deployments, 100+ sites as well as smaller orgs, if you see any of the webinars that include US based customers there's a solid chance they're my customer.
c
Cool, and do they do a lot of maintenance on it or is it set and forget?
j
I am a partner and have done a number of deployments. In the middle of a 400+ site deployment in the banking industry.
It works great
Basic config is set and don’t mess with, but as you start to gain insight into your network, you will probably want to start optimizing SaaS traffic and other items.
c
Yeah, there's not really any day to day care and feeding involved, you're only twiddling knobs when you want to customize something or add a new site.
c
@Joel Donaldson are any virtual?
j
Not in this particular deployment, but VPX is certainly supported.
Talking with another customer and we are talking about physical for DCs/Colo and 1 VPX for AWS
l
Both physical and virtual. I don't think AHV yet, definitely VMware though.
j
AHV is supported (Listed on Citrix Ready) there aren’t specific deployment steps that I have found yet for AHV through. Hardware appliances actually run KVM, so it is the preferred hypervisor for SD-WAN.,

Cheers Joel, but yes I like its granular monitoring and prioritisation policies. It's pretty awesome.
s
Definitely a good product. Like Joel said once you get the insight, you start tweaking and shaping. Going to present on our experience at the Virtual Expo next month.
l
I'll be watching that Steve, it gets very little exposure and I've been trying to change that.

@CTXMike looks like we can manage thru adm??
j
That is the WANOP edition only. The Standard Edition is as @CTXMike said.
s
Ping @h0gb0y.
c
Right, the "WO" on that tab name stands for WAN Optimization.
s
Jeff, @CTXMike is an SME on SDWAN and works at Citrix so he could be a resource when we have questions. Mike, @h0gb0y is the SE at Choice Solutions that has been helping us and other customers. He’s a super smart dude.
c
Right on, nice to meet you. Glad to help however I can.

s
Mike will you be at Synergy?
c
I generally don't find out until they start setting up the booth schedules, with a little luck I should be though.
c
Thanks for all the feedback, we will start testing this input lab!
k
For AHV the deployment is straightforward, I deployed it with the NetScaler defaults (IDE, no CD-ROM and a COM port)
c
Yes we are going to test the whole Citrix/SdWAN/windows/automation/flow in our lab to lifecycle our Netscalers and virtual ISD a few dmzs and BN. Should be cool, will need @Eric automation expertise.
Oh yeah all running AHV
