Haven't used the license code method since internal licenses don't work with that, but I've run pooled for on-prem ADM and ADM service. You do in fact have a MAC address on ADM service, it will tell you what host ID to allocate against on the Licenses node inside ADM service.
s
We are ADM Service as License Server. Are you using SDX or VPX?
e
Oh man, you are right @CTXMike. I can see the the host ID on the license page. Thanks!
"In License Files, select a license file that you want to apply and click Apply licenses. This action enables ADC instances to use the selected license as a pooled capacity." This is a safe operation, yeah? It wont actually do anything to the instances?
c
Correct
e
Not much is happening when I click on Apply Licenses. Time for a support ticket?
c
It usually has a bit of a lag time, but once the licenses are applied and the background licensing processes on the ADM Service Agents are updated with that info at the next poll, you should then be able to click on Licenses and see a new node underneath for Pooled/vCPU/CICO depending on what kind of licenses were uploaded. If that's not showing up then yeah I'd advise a quick shout to the ADM Service cloud team who should be able to look at the logs and find out what's happening quickly.

Thanks! I definitely experienced some lag time. I also had to reapply licenses after ADM got updated. My instanses entered grace mode. Luckily not in production yet.
