I believe it's combined throughput. This article may help you check: https://support.citrix.com/article/CTX232341

Perfect. Interesting, as I know that we have gone above 1gbit (600 in and 500 out), but the log from that article came back empty

Finally found something concrete: https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/citrix-adc/13/deploying-vpx/deploy-vpx-faq.html#hypervisor. ... Citrix ADC VPX bandwidth limits are enforced for traffic inbound to the Citrix ADC only, regardless of whether the request traffic or response traffic. It indicates that a Citrix ADC VPX-1000 (for example) can process both 1 Gbps of inbound traffic and 1 Gbps of outbound traffic simultaneously.
b
Aha! Thank you for that!
f
It's interesting - I didnt realize they don't cap the outbound. I tested with a dev licensed VPX which is limited to 1mb. Downloading a firmware bundle from the device isnt capped at the 1mb, but uploading to the appliance is!
m
oh yeah, it sucks uploading new firmware bundles to those
c
ADC throughput is the sum of all inbound traffic.

I’ve run into issues where it’ll start dropping packets and not log anything to do with the license
