Good question, I have nagle enabled too. It works well.
r
We undid it and set what in the article about 6 months ago.
j
hence why the confusion 😄
l
Its not suppose to be enabled for ICA. Citrix was suppose to change their recommendation.
j
and yet I just built a brand new box with 12.1.60 and it's enable on the nstcp_XD_XA_profile
I also find silly they suggest editing default tcp profile...it's best too create a new one in case you need to go back
l
Yes.... the later releases have been a little hit and miss. I agree.
j
So we should disable nagle for ICA proxy. If I want to do that, I need solid benefits/evidence that I should do it. Does anyone has a link/reference? Any personal experience like you disabled it and then it improves perf (ICA RTT, latency, etc. Because when reading what is nagle protocol, it looks great on paper. Thanks in advance.
l
Its actually not recommended for ICA traffic. The reason being that it groups smaller packets together, ICA needs that granularity in the packets.

yeah I've seen that one, but again it makes you wonder why in the XA_XD nstcp profile it's enabled
I'll disable it and see what happens
j
Thanks a mill Leee, it should be enough to build a case!
l
No worries

I opened a ticket up about 6-8 months ago, asking when this was going to be set by new builds. They advised me that, they are updating the docs and changing it globally would take a while.
