It’s DNS at the end of the day - no impact until you change dns records, and even then, it’s just DNS :-)

For the implementation, that's fine. But later, you'll have to, because once yu'll have both sites in prod and put one in maintenance, some users may experience slowness if they connect in UK while they are in US (a bit more latency).
