no experience of using solarwinds as a appflow collector i have only ever used netscaler insight / nmas for appflow. With those when you configure hdx insights on the GW Vserver it binds the appflow policy to the GW Vserver as a ica request policy and normal request policy
m
Also there is a requirement on the ADC license for it be advanced/platinum for HDX infromation in appflow
p
Thanks @c4rm0! I just tried to add the appflow policy both as a ica request and normal request policy. But i still don't see any data for ICA traffic. I also tried using the Solarwinds Realtime Monitor as described in the Citrix article. But also there I can't see any ICA traffic. @Thanks
@Mads Petersen Ok didn't know that. But yes, we do have a platinum license on the ADC.

Guessing you're using IPFIX right? And not logstream by chance, because i'm pretty sure that one is citrix only. Sorry i've only done it with Citrix ADM, so not much help here.
c
Apply an ADM license they the gateway ADC and enable AppFlow on it.
p
Yes using IPFIX which should be the right one for Solarwinds.
OK I'll check if I can apply an ADM license.
c
you get 30x free licenses with ADM (rumoured to change to 2x in 13.1)

No, just download the on-prem version, you might have to disable auto select, because it will just select the first 30. And like Carl said, expect it to lower free licenses to 2 like adm service free tier.

Ok great, I'll try this next week and let you know. Thank you
